Whatsapp in Zimbabwe with the total Social Media #Shutdown

As an advocate for Human Rights I am reaching out to you for help as a voice to the voiceless of Zimbabwe as the authorities have mandated an indefinite internet and social media shutdown. This means we need you to reach out to friends and family (Zimbos and others in the diaspora) to get them making NOISE on the internet for us because from inside Zimbabwe we have ZERO access to Whatsapp Youtube, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc.

I encourage you to TWEET at my Twitter account @CorporateEarth1 and to AS MANY HUMAN RIGHTS and NEWS ORGANISATIONS as you can i.e Amnesty International, the various United Nations agencies, The New York Times, The Daily Beast, The BBC, Al Jazeera etc and other Human Rights forums available to you. Please share MULTIPLE TWEETS, MULTIPLE TIMES, EVERYDAY to get the word out on the situation because our freedom of speech is being censored and our freedom of movement heavily restricted. These are massive Human Rights Violation and we cannot stay silent!

In analyzing inequalities I apply a Human Rights based approach to counter punity with an egalitarian mindset. With over 20 years of experience (1998- 2018) as a Humanitarian Volunteer, I have engaged in advocacy and foster- care of orphans and abandoned children due to factors like HIV/AIDS, poverty and abuse. As an activist for women's rights- against food insecurity and gender-based-violence (through Harare City Rotary District 9210) I served as the Interact Social Coordinator, based at Emerald Hill School for the Deaf and Children’s Home. Quite often in my professional life, I'm called to raise profile visibility as I am proficient with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Prezi, Survey Monkey, Canva and the Microsoft Office suite in the presentation of country reports and briefs for use by intergovernmental agencies, Non-Governmental Organisations and Southern African Development Community (SADC) Ministerial Officials. Other organisational writing includes; speeches; project proposals; and feature pieces on social media, blog and vlog platforms.

All of this to say the current situation, as saddening as it is, also presents us with an opportunity for collaboration if we can all use the means available to us, from wherever we are, to address the injustice being imposed on a people in a nation known for its warm, friendly and peace loving people.
