Video: Vessel of Love :) Making Mother's Day Meaningful
Happy Mother's Day!! Despite the fact that I have no children of my own (yet), I had the pleasure of being invited to cover and blog about a Mother's Day Launch hosted by Vessel of Love, an initiative committed to supporting and empowering single mothers in need* to better take care of themselves and their children. As their first event, themed, "Mother's Day with a Difference", Vessel of love celebrated motherhood by hosting a massive baby shower for disadvantaged single mothers who are either expecting or whom have children aged (0-12 months). Each of them was gifted one community donated goodie-hamper from the 50 hamper target.
Focusing on holistic maternal care and personal development, various essential workshops and events, hosted by Vessel of Love, aim to meet the emotional, familial, economic and social needs of all single mothers. As for future events, the plan is to cover a wide range of topics needed for holistic development such as: maternal-care, parenting workshops, academic and/or vocational education, skills equipping, esteem-building, nutrition and fitness.
This special weekend has been filled with tears of joy, dancing and loads of laughs- more of which I'll be blogging about over the next week. In the meantime, enjoy the video because Runyararo is one you want to make sure you watch!
Also, sharing is caring, so please help us get the word out about Vessel of Love- what started as a simple idea to show a little love is steadily branching into various branches of maternal welfare aid and counselling services. Also, many thanks to the various sponsors and stakeholders who made this day possible, making special mention of the Impact Hub of Harare for hosting us on site.
**Note- the corrected email address is vesseloflove7@gmail.com, with donation collections continuing to fill monthly hampers, starting May 2018 until Dec 2018. Also, need here refers to women of all and any social and economic class, who are desirous, or feel a void in any of the target areas listed under Vessel of Love services.**
